I got home from work a months or so back, turned on the TV, and noticed "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations - Spain" on the DVR. I have been watching the show for about a year now but had never seen this episode. When I pushed play I was expecting to see the usual intro of catchy highlights, but instead it was an out-take of sorts with Anthony giving a synopsis to his crew. Here is the line I remember: "No one has eaten as well we have this past week. No one in the history of the world."
Well, I watched inspired and in awe as Anthony ate his way through some of the best restaurants in the world. After the show, I called my wife and promised her that I would make it a life goal to take her to Spain to eat at and experience Arzak, Mugaritz, Extebarri, and especially El Bulli. . She had no idea what I was talking but was excited to watch the episode when she got home from work. She never asks for designer clothes or expensive jewelry, but she does enjoy trying new foods and new experiences, so I thought this would be the best anniversary present I could get her. We are by no accounts wealthy, but for a once in a lifetime experience, I'm willing to make sacrifices to save for such a trip. It wasn't until I began looking up these restaurants online did I realize that I had bit off maybe too much than I could chew. I didn't realize that El Bulli had such tough reservations that there were eBay listing asking over $1000 just for the reservation.

To make an already long story slightly less long, we decided that before we have kids, we needed to complete this trip, otherwise it would never happen. So after some careful planning around work schedules and burning through hotel/credit card points, we are heading to Spain in a two weeks. Unfortunately we have no reservation for El Bulli. So here is my plea.

Is there anyone out there who can help us get reservations for El Bulli between October 8-10, preferably the 8th. We have submitted a request incase there are cancellations, but were told that nothing is available. Anthony? Travel Channel? Anyone? We need some serious help! We would love to document and share our trip with pictures and all.

Thanks for reading my really long post.
