I watched a recent episode on Uzbekistan where Anthony went to the Turkish bath. Had to be one of the funniest portions of any of the episodes, and, I can say that because I went thru a similar experience 20 years ago in Selcuk, Turkey. Traveling with 3 buddies and a local Turk, we were led to the open area where a large slab of heated granite/tile was, and, were left there wondering what to do for about 20 minutes. Then, busting thru the double doors were 3 rather large Turks who proceeded to grab my British friend and put him thru a kind of tormenting cleaning we had never witnessed before or after. At one point, he had so much soap suds on him, I'll I could think of was the Michelin Man commercials from home. It turned out to be one of the most excruciating experiences of my life. I lost the top two layers of my skin, or at least, it felt as such. We sat in horror watching each of our friends completely "worked over" by these guys, each of us knowing we were next! When the ordeal was over, they led us, completely wrapped from head to toe in Turkish robes and towels to a waiting area with a pot bellied stove heating the room, and, gave us tea, where we just sat taking in the warmth of the stove, sipping tea, and staring at one another, nobody saying a word! Yes, we were all thinking the same thing, "what just happened in there?" So, watching Anthony go thru the tormentation of the Turkish bath brought back a hilarious memory, knowing I could relate to what he was going thru. Hilarious! Thanks for a great show, Anthony!
