OK! We Amercans have this thing for peanut butter. It's woven into our culture...the infamous peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Ohhh us creatures of habit! Recently there was a peanut butter recall in the US and "Us American peanut butter lovers" had to seriously cut back on our intake.

In the meantime, a friend of mine (that did not grow up in America) told me to do what she does. So my breakfast went without a little butter, peanut butter, jelly on toast/English muffin and consisted simply of wheat toast, a little butter and of course coffee...and the day started. I tried it for a month just because...Anthony would take that challenge..wouldn't you?

Now that the peanut butter scare is over I've gone back to my breakfast love and my "bland tongued" friend just doesn't understand. So I need your opinion on what your favorite choice would be "Little butter, Peanut Butter, jelly on toast/english muffin" or "wheat toast and a little butter" with coffee of course. And I rather not hear a "neither" or something like eggs, pop tarts or Dim Sum. Just your choice of the two. Thank you in advance for your
choice.

Peanut butter all the way! Not only is peanut butter DELICIOUS, it's nutritious (especially the natural brands in moderation of course)....protein, carbs, and fat. However, I prefer my toast with just peanut butter and jelly; no "little butter" necessary.

You don't mention all the other yummy peanut butter combinations-PB and bananas, PB and apples, PB and chocolate, PB and raisins with celery (think ants on a log), PB straight from the spoon. Best thing about PB&J is how easy it is to make, transport, and eat. Mushy PB&J sandwiches are the best! The only problem is the proliferation of nut allergies. So many schools have become "nut free" zones. The poor children who are missing out on a staple food of childhood.

Maybe I'm biased in my preference for peanut butter; some of my paddling friends gave me the nickname "Skippy" since I love peanut butter so much and eat PB&J during distance races!
