hey tony; im from VA now, but "born and bred" in Buffalo. my family was called it home for 9 generations, and I'm "retired" now, but a 4th generation Chef. i really like your show. it's like me on vacation. i read "Confidential" also, and, well, been there done that. i totally get ya. anyway, Buffalo. ya almost went. one wouldn't think, but it is a really kool culinary town. i'm just not talking the "bobby flay"(small case) stuff. hell, i lived across the street from Oliver's. (a reference to one of his shows)(they had free fries on halloween.)) or the ubiquitous wing. how bout "beef on weck", a friday night fish fry with a nice "schouper" genny cream on tap. texas red hots? miles of sausage. the whole "broadway market experience cherrysones on Niagara St? italian food on the west side. Bocce pizza? mike's subs in kenmore. ribs in Como Park, on a summer Sunday morning. got your attention? Bakeries man you name it they make. italian and polish food 24/7/365. lotsa history & odd spots too. as you know, it's a little down, but it's the kind of town that can't die. that's cause of the poeple. they're warm, kind and and caring. and they're proud of their food culture. big time pork fans too!! and then there's the falls, 20 mi away. suprizes around every corner. anyway.... you should really consider it. i know a good guide, also. it would be a gas. you keep goin, i'm still watchin. thx Nick
