After seeing the program a few times, we decided to take a drive (235 miles each way) to check out this barbecue restaurant that DeCarlo was going nuts over.
The atmosphere was quaint. The waitress was at our table promptly. This is all I have to say positive about this place.
The pork was HORRIBLE! My order of sliced pork & barbecued ribs was of decent portion, but the sliced pork was obviously reheated from Lord knows how many days ago. The ribs were below average, and their sauces were nothing more than poorly flavored apple cider vinegar. The corn bread was so bland it's indescribable.
This trip cost us a few hundred dollars, and it turned out to be one of the most disappointing trips we've ever taken.
Rest assured Travel Channel, we'll continue to watch the program. But, we will NOT go to the featured restaurants nor will we patronize the program's advertisers. Epic disappointment!!
