Any of you guys ever been to this area? I think it'd be a great place for Tony to visit. I know he's done Mexico before, but it's always the west coast. Why not the Riviera Maya?

First thing, you land in Cancun since that's where the International Airport is. He could go on about Cancun and how it's all about spring break for teens and how this isn't that show. This is about the rich history of the region prior to the Spanish settling here.

Right from the airport, could totally see him grabbing a few beers while waiting for transport to see Chichen Itza (sp?). Talk about the history there. Then, he could go south down the coast to Tulum and see the awesome real estate the Mayans picked to build a ruin. Then, he can take a swim at the beach down there. If you've seen it, you know why it's a big deal. Then, off to Coba where there is still an ancient tribe settled there along with more ruins.

From there, he could do several Cenote excursions. Since Cenotes are definitely unique to this are and can't be seen anywhere else, he could visit and dive/snorkel. Heck, up and down the coast has some very beautiful coral reef formations. He can snorkel/dive there. Maybe even highlight some sea turtles either nesting or hatching.

Then, he could do something about staying at a giant all-inclusive, bracelets and all, sampling the "food" and "fare." Then, actually go in to playa del carmen and experience local life.

Just an idea and wondering what you guys think. I really love this area and have been here numerous times. Heck, I'd volunteer to tag along. :-)

We could witness Anthony being hounded by impovershed salesmen of trinkets and trash. Followed by and encore of anthony throwing up and **** his bowels out from food poisoning and parasites...

I have been to the Yucatan several times and also think it would make for a good show. Yucatan food is much different from other regional food in Mexico, as is the culture and the Carribean setting. It would be fun to see Tony snark on the tourist scene down there as well! But if you go, Tony, make sure to hit it when the sea turtles are laying their eggs (from late July to early October)--it is absolutely incredible! How about some Travel Cahnnel meets National Geographic?

dont forget cozumel, cozumel has one of the coral reefs in the world, and is very safe unlike many areas in playa del carmen, i've been living here for awhile and the food and people are great. and the tourist are isnt extremely large so Anthony can just get away from it all. and need more than just water and beer? my boyfriend is literally the best salsa, tango, and break dancer here Anthony can learn the local style.
