Does anybody have a good source for establishing bottle value? I missed the name of the appraiser in Sacramento that Becky took her find to. I have an old cobalt blue Briocshi bottle with the label mostly intact. There is nothing printed on the bottle itself, but by the picture on the label, I'm dating this to be pre-1920's. Any help is appreciated.

What condition is it in?

I think it could be considered in good to excelent condition. The bottle itself shows no wear, chips or abuse. The label is paper and has age wear around the edges. I have a photo, but don't see a link to add it to this post.

Hey All,
I'm in need of a little help.I have found plenty of digital librarys full of sanborn maps, but none of which show the outhouses. Is this a guessing game on where it might be located.I have noticed that there are small structures behide many dwellings. But none specify outhouse or water closet.
Thanks for any help

Hi, when we find an old bottle, we search to see if there is anything similar or the same on eBay completed auctions. It is quick and free, a way to start, Don

tcabe, may I ask, are the sites you have found for the Sanborn maps generally available? The only ones I can find require registration/membership through an institution of some type? Would you so kind as to share your source(s)?

hey papercutter and tcabe I would also be interested in knowing websited that allow access to sanborn maps. I live in an over 100 yr old house and would love to start digging! I already love to collect bottles and to find some in my own yard would be most fun. My email address is phcrowe@gmail.com

Thanks Don... Been done and nothing shows up even close. As an eBayer, I also have sense enough not to list until I have a reasonable value. I've even emailed the company( still in business) and some others, with no reponse. I would have thought the company would at least be interested.
Apparently no one from the show reads these message boards, or they could supply me with the name of the auctioneer in Sacramento that Becky took her bottle to. That's close enough for me to make the drive.

Thanks Don..Kool BLM site. It helped to determine it is a deep cobalt blue, machine made medicinal bottle, has a suction ring on the bottom and fine, light seams. Though it does not have the vollume embossed in the glass itself, I'm figuring that it is on the paper label that it met Federal laws from 1914. The only other markings is "21" in the middle of the bottom of the bottle. The site suggests it is Pre-1930's, so I can guess that that could be a year stamp. It was also a cork sealed bottle. No threads.
Thanks for the site...It helped alot.
I have a picture if you want to see it....just can't figure out how to add to this board. Can send by email
