I've always been interested in China, an old and mysterious country, and I decided to go to Beijing with my girlfriend for the 29th Olympic Games. We'll stay in Beijing for about one week but we are not familiar with the city. So if there is anybody that can recommend us some interesting places to go, I'd appreciate a lot!

Beijing is an amazing city. Great Wall, Forbidden City, Heaven Temple, lots of interesting places to go. But if it is your first time to go there, you may face some difficulties. I recommend you to take the live English assistance service from www.yoyoor.com. It provides you with a sleek mobile phone equipped with an updated and comprehensive city guide, GPS navigationwireless Internet access.

I was in china for two weeks last summer. Expect to get diarrhea, it's going to happen so just bring some medicine with, also it kind of hits you out of no where. IMPORTANT, you have to barter for every thing you buy. if someone offers you 200 for a pair of ear rings, it's really only worth about 30 or 40. They take really big advantage of foreigners in this area. So just walk away and the price WILL go down. Every thing is worth only about a 1/6-1/8 of the original price. You will even have to barter for food and water in some areas. Also, if you go to the great wall, you might end up getting brought to a "Jade Museum" that your tour guide "forgot" to mention until you were already on your way. It's technically consisted kidnapping in American, but not in China. LOL. It will just end up being an interesting story to tell people when you get home. Also, maps are really hard to read, and if you can't figure out how to get across the 8 lane highway that they consider a street, it's because there are tunnels under ground that you can use to get across. That took us a little bit to figure out. And no one wheres seat belts. So if you get into a taxi, they will be offended if you put yours on because the driver will think you think he's a bad driver. These are just some things, but you will have an amazing time otherwise. I did and I would love to go back tomorrow. So have fun and be safe. Also, they will know that you're a foreigner and they will always try to take advantage of that, so just always be on your guard.

red1027, i agree with you. the prices of these remembrances are really higher than the cost. if travel with a agency, sometimes many wonderful places will be missed. and even some agencies like to take their customers to shops which selling expensive toys. So, what i suggest, is to make a small research before the trip to Beijing, then use the smart phone yoyoor as a assistant, you will have as much fun as you want.
