Hi,
I'm from South Australia and wish to have a long term working holiday (anywhere from 6months to 2 years depending) in New York and was hoping I could get some advice on cheap long term accomodation. I was thinking maybe stay in a very cheap hotel for a couple of weeks at most and during that time look for local shared accomodation or something but open to suggestions. I was hoping to get some chef work and if I did at a hotel would they be likely to give me a very good price on accomodation ? Also can anyone recommend some sites with this type of info? Thanks |

Well I did abit of searching around the net and it seems staying in a days inn motel for a week or two and during this time look at local rentals or share accomodations.
One thing I also found out is they don't have a work permit system, you need to find an employer who will send in a petition for permission for you to work there with them and you can only work for that employer and for that contract period and this has to be organised before you leave to go there. |
