We are looking into planning a Hawaii honeymoon. I've never been there before and personally don't know many who have been. What's a good plan? Where should we go,stay and do? Any ideas would be great!!!! Thanks!
I stayed in a great place called Ko Olina. These are new private condos about 30 minutes from Honolulu. The one I stayed in was on the water and soooo romantic! I got a great deal on a auction site called Private Trade Winds.
There's lots of clubs in town for nightlife and a must is to take a drive around the island. There's a great park to hike in across from Waiamai (the beach with the big waves).
I honeymooned on Maui. We stayed at ResortQuest Kaanapali Shores. I would go back tomorrow if I had the chance. Maui is a beautiful island. I would reccommend ResortQuest Kaanapali Shores to anyone.
This is kind of a late response to this discussion but I second the suggestion of having a honeymoon on Maui versus Oahu. Maui is so much more slow and relaxed in general, not just out at some resort 30 minutes from HNL. In fact I recommend staying on the north shore of Maui because it is even more relaxed while home to a very cool community of international waterpeople - surfers, kitesurfers, windsurfers, stand-up paddle boarders, you name it. There's such a cool scene and vibe in the air in say Haiku or Kuau or Paia. You feel like you are away but you're really not - the airport is only about seven minutes from Paia, for example. Restaurants of varying size and flavor can be enjoyed in this little shabby chic town. Paia Bay Beach is right there, home to a golden sandy beach. There are a few simple B&Bs and a hostel up on Baldwin, but I recommend, specifically for a romantic getaway, the Paia Inn. It's new, just opened five months ago, but the experience my husband and I had when we stayed there was extraordinary. Not extraordinary in some big Grand Wailea kind of a way! More in the way of truly (read: truly) feeling relaxed and well-cared by the staff. The room had character AND modern amenities, and we had our own private walkway to the beach. We were right in the middle of a bunch of super good restaurants that cost half of what you would pay in a resort setting. My husband even took a surf lesson right off from the inn, at the point in Paia Bay. So fun! He was super stoked. We both were. Go to paiainn.com.

Hawaii is an exotic Polynesian destination that is a part of the United States. For American travelers, the demands of a foreign country such as a passport, currency exchange, a different language and culture are not found in Hawaii. The diversity of Hawaii with its great beaches, rainforests, volcanoes, sea cliffs, and the friendly mix of people make it a unique and exotic destination.
Hawaii is a great destination with warm and balmy weather most of the year. Rainfall varies with the location more than the season. The western and southern regions of the islands, the leeward side, have the driest and sunniest conditions with the calmest waters.
