Do you mean that Derek should not try and contact a celebrity? Iam sure there have been many gifted mediums that have tried to make a connection with Michael Jackson shortly after his death.

I cannot comment on Derek contacting Michael Jackson or other celebs., I would be more impressed if he could contact some of my loved ones who passed away.
I really do not know how to explain people like Chip and the other mediums I have seen on Paranormal State who seem to be very good at what they do.
Regardless, it might make for interesting tv.

I don't know the shows on British tv, just wondering if Derek still does his other 2 shows I have seen on Travel Channel.
One was when he drove around the streets of London doing readings at the different homes that he would stop at.
#2 was filmed at the pyramids in Egypt. Just curious.

The show you are talking about with driving around England is Derek's show that he did directly after leaving MH. Then he had the Egypt show. Both shows are old. Ya know... Iam not sure if he is still doing his new show or not, but it is more of giving readings to live audience type of show. Its late and I cant remember the names of the shows. Sorry, I need my zzzz's

What I meant by not bringing him into the paranormal is that its disrespectful, to his kids, and his family which are going through enough right now. The reason Derek was kicked off Most Haunted was because he was fabricating possesions (according to Yvette he was fake) and I wouldnt want someone making something up about Michael, and midnight rider, when you die it doesnt mean you become part of the paranormal.

midnight rider, just because someone dies it doesnt make them part of the paranormal. and i think its disrespectful to his family and children to be doing this. they are going through enough right now.

I don't believe Derek would do this to be disrespectful to any one, especially MJ family. Infact I read an article in which Derek was asked why are you doing this, he said he wanted to let MJ fans know that he is well and to comfort fans and MJ family in knowing this.

I am sure that the family knew about the show other wise it would probably not have been aired.

Paranormal to me is spirit contact of any ones spirit by a medium. It is the unseen and the unknown. I have not seen the show, but hoping to on youtube.

I watched Derek on you tube trying to contact MJ and it was in my opinion done in a tastefully. respectfull manner. There were emotional moments when MJ best friend named Michael broke down sobbing uncontrolably. In the end of the show everyone present believed Derek had made contact with MJ.
It was good seeing Derek contacting the spirits again.I just think it was terrible what O'Keefe did to Derek. O'Keefe set him up in a trap and then announce it to the public. O'Keefe didn't have to go public with what he did to Derek. O'Keefe tried not once but twice to defame Derek. O'Keefe deliberatly set Derek up because Derek was starting his new show on a different network. O'Keefe tried to ruin Derek's reputation, but Derek still appears on television with his own shows. I might be wrong in saying this but I think what O'keefe did to Derek is the reason the other mediums only stay for a short time and more importantly do not return to MH.

I watched the show and agree it was great seeing Derek again. Its a shame that Ciran O'Keefe had choosen to expose Derek on world wide TV like that. There was definite attempt to try and ruin Derek's reputation and good name as a medium. I think that what Ciran did to Derek was pure EVIL. O'Keefe could have stopped at the first trap he demised for Derek, but it wasn't enough for O'Keefe, so he set up another trap again. This whole subject of faking could have been handled in so many other ways.

Derek is a fighter! He would always protect Yvette and the team on the old shows from evil spirits. It seems O'Keefe didn't get enough protection for posessing him to do this evil trickery to Derek and go public with it.

I love your user name! I also think it was terrible how O"Keefe set poor Derek up and then anounced it publicly to all at the exact time that Derek was to start his new show. It reminds me of something that just happened recently to James Van Praaugh. He was on the View show with Barbara Walters promoting his new book. After the show James told Barbara Walters in privacy that there is something wrong with her back. She said to James, "everyone has back problems". James continued to tell Barbara Walters that she has something wrong with her blood. Sooo Barbara calls her doctor and he says come in and I will check your blood. Barbara Walters told this story on the view on national television. She said the tests showed that her white cell count was up but everything else was great. She humilliated James Van Praaugh and practically said he was a fraud by telling her story to the public. James Van Praaugh said that what he told her was in secrecy and concern for her health and to take this and make it public was low of her(not those exact words but same meaning) James went on to say "You don't need a phychic to know why Whoopi and Star left the show.

Well, call me Switzerland! I do think IF a person is a fraud, they need to be removed from any public forum. However, public humiliation is unnecessary. I think what was done to Derek is wrong for this reason, it discredits not just Derek but the show both Derek and Ciran are/were associated with. I think this could have been handled better, as it seems to be a 'I gotcha' kind of moment, better left to 10 year olds on the playground. Also, as Derek was representing MH, I think the show should have handled any public announcement, not O'Keefe.
RE the View always a grain of salt with that show, too.
