I'm sorry to say thsi but Yvette is not really a good ghost hunter. She is good at narrator but is very poor hunter. She always talks when noises are happening around her plus she screams, says words that are beeped out. She needs to be more professional like her other co-parters or even take tips from another show called TAPS seen on the scifi channel. I just think she sometimes ruins the show by her actions and over rated comments. The show needs to get a better host I think it will make it alot more interesting and exciting to watch.
sevenfour....even though everything you said is completely true,....she co-founded the show, and so therefor probably not gonna happen anytime soon...unless someone throws a rock and it hits her in the head. What they should do is let Ciaran lead the show...why not have a skeptic get a chance to prove either way....and someone find a cure for whatever David has...he made the show along with Richard believable...His reactions to things are truly intense and scary...He doesn't need to have half of what he says bleeped out...especially when MH knows that these shows are getting to the US, and they are making shows in the US, they need to use "different" language, WHAT WOULD THEIR MUMS THINK??
i think she talks alot to give the other's time to fake some of the stuff in the shows. I think that if Ciaran was the host of the show or even Phil Whyman that would be great. Perferrably Phil because I miss him on MH,lol [diehard Phil fan here]. In the beginning I couldn't stand Yvette, but I must admit she's gotten better with her whimpy ways. It's nice to see her get tougher as the show goes on through the seasons, she just needs to hush for a bit, lol.
This is just my opinion, but I actually enjoy Yvette. I caught an episode by accident last spring while flipping through the channels. I never heard of the show, and I have been hooked ever since. To the point where I am buying PAL DVD's and reconverting them so I can watch them on my TV. What we see here on tv are in my opinion, chopped up versions. Some of the openings are different, they don't bleep out words on the DVD's, and there are "extras" which helped give me insight into Yvette's thinking and drive.
I guess because I have seen alot of stuff not broadcast here I have a very good understanding of Yvette. I do believe when thw show first started she and Karl approached it as a show, but as time has progressed, they have now made it a quest to search for the truth.
But as for her talking, I don't feel she does too much. My only complaints are sometimes Stuart gets too descriptive on how he is feeling rather that listening, and Karl's language at times it a bit much. I cannot remember which episode I saw, I believe it was in series 6, Karl at one point could hear something comming up the stairs and all he could do was repeat one phrase over and over.
