This was in early July of 2005 on US Hwy 50 "The Loneliest Road In America". We were going between Eureka and Austin when we encountered millions and millions of grasshoppers swarming over the road. This went on for more than 50 miles. At one point when the road was going into a small pass and a sharp turn there was one of those temporary, generator driven, signs telling us the road was slippery.
