Flipping thru channels, I chanced upon watching an Andrew Zimmern episode somewhere in one of the Caribbean islands with the soup guy (Souza? Gods cooking) with Andrew sipping a soup from his bare hands. I can't remember if the episode (or any episodes of Zimmern ot Bourdain showed antiseptic technique like hand cleansing prior to ingestion in the kitchen setting (on the street, it's another story). Please don't get me wrong I'm an avid fan, Bizzare Foods and Without Reservations are the few of my favorites, I have had watched Cooks Tour way back. GlobeTrekker was another one but I seldom see them now.
Now with the advent of global infection (Flu, H1N1, or any fluid or air borne infections) it might be a good idea to show simple aseptic techniques advisable to travelers worldwide. Maybe specify on hand cleansing.
