When our family was surfing the web looking for vacation ideas we found a great page listing all sorts of family friendly resorts and what was offered for kids...

We ended up booking with them and had the best
vacation we ever had at Dreams Cancun.

My family just got back from an awesome trip to Pensacola Beach Florida. We stayed at the Portofino Island Resort - which was very secluded right on the beach. We rented a private owned condo with 3 bedrooms & 3.5 baths. It was over 2400 square feet - and very luxurious. It was well worth the money. There was tons of things for the kids to do - and for the parents to relax. They had 5 heated outdoor pools and 1 indoor olympic sized lap pool! We highly recommend it - and will definitely be back. Check out the condo we stayed at: Pensacola Beach Vacation Condo Rental

I never have a problem booking a one or two bedroom resort for extra family and friends. Most resorts are kid-friendly, but some times I take the inlaws along. My prices are low, at times only $299 for the whole week. Never higher than $799. And I can book as many rooms as I want. They have great customer service too.

I'm a travel agent.
And...just about every day I'm asked the same the same question...
"Which resort is the BEST family resort?"
My answer is..."The resort that is best for your family"!

No...I'm not trying to be coy or avoid the question. Family friendly resorts and hotels are as different as the families that frequent them. There is no one paradise, no nirvana, no perfect holiday spot. The ideal hotel for a young family with a two year old might be a nightmare for that same family when they later return with their now 13 year old. Family lifestages change, as does the needs of each family and family member. You may choose the perfect resort for your 5, 7 and 11 year old but that same property might be inaccessible if you choose to bring the grandparents along. The perfect family resort sometimes doesn't seem so perfect when parents find out they need to take double connecting flights or fly red eye to get there and back.

Families, like resorts, all have their own personalities. Travel planning is as much match making as it is anything else. Often parents can get overwhelmed with brochure and internet
resort choices, not to mention online reviews that may or may not be misleading. This is why it's often best to seek the advice and service of a travel agent that specializes in family travel to help you make the right decisions for your family's next vacation.

We stayed at the Plaza Beach Hotel www.PlazaBeach.com on St Pete Beach from July.28 -Aug.4.2008. This was probably one of our top three Best Vacations ever, everyone had some much fun and nobody wanted to leave. This was the first time we stayed on the west coast of Florida, normally our family stays in Daytona Beach. We chose Plaza Beach Resort because we were looking for a small beach resort with a good location to activities and restaurants. We were not disappointed. Plaza Beach is located next to a shopping center with a grocery store, lots of shopping and many restaurants. The rooms are spacious and clean, our room was a Delluxe Efficiency and the setup is a large apartment room with a kitchen, two beds and a sleeper sofa. You also have a large T.V and free DVD’s in the office. Location was perfect with the property being directly on the beach which we really enjoyed. However we did a lot of sightseeing: We visit Fort DeSoto state park, took the ferry Egmont Key island, the Salvador Dali museum, the downtown Pier, Baywalk Shopping, Johns Pass Fishing Village, we even went to two baseball games to watch the TampaBay Rays beat the Detroit Tigers. There’s was so much to do but as always never enough time. We hope to come back to St Pete Beach next year and we will definitely stay at the Plaza Beach Resort.
