Hi,

I am a single mom who is looking forward to a vacation in Dec 2009. My girls at the time will be 3 and 7. They have already been to Thailand, Bahamas and tons of places in the states, so they are well traveled. I am interested in taking them to the Caribbean or South America. Initally, I was thinking about Peru, but I think they are still too young for that due to the altitude. I am looking for a couple good places to visit. Any info you can provide would be great.

I would HIGHLY recommend any of the Dreams Resorts in Mexico or Dominican Republic. They have a fabulous children's program that starts at age 3 (as long as the kids are potty trained). They even offer single parent discounts at certain times of the year.

Normally most hotel rooms base their prices on a "double adult rate". Single parents often have to pay "double" for themselves or at best a "single supplement". Dreams resorts do offer single parent discounts but only at certain times of the year like summer and fall. Book early...as you can imagine, there are lots of other single parents out there looking for these great deals!

Hey AJ, I to am a single mom with a 7 and a 3 year old, both are little girls. I noticed that you have been to a few wonderful places with your children. I am about to start traveling with my daughters and am in need of good not too expensive places to travel with them and of course they must be kid friendly. Can you provide me with some advice? What abuot your Thailand adventure how was that trip?
