I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of good places to go on a family vacation with a three year old. mostly interested in places in the midwest or east coast. but open to all suggestions!

I figure the Hamptons or just anywhere you can rent a house. It is so much easier than a hotel. You can have the pool in the back and relax. It costs less too.

Hershey PA and Williamsburg, VA are two good options...Hershey has several attarations such as Hershey Park, Chocolate factory tour, a small zoo, etc. and Williamsburg has Busch gardens and several other attractions. Both places may be good options for parets with a 3 year old kid :-)

Gulf Shores/Orange Beach on the Alabama Gulf Coast is a great place to vacation with kids. Very laid back, family-friendly area. This web site has some useful information: www.thebeachiscalling.org.

You could try and go to Philadelphia there is a sesame street water park about a half hour away, then their is Amish country in Lancaster which would be cool. I did not do the Amish but the Sesame Street park I did with the kids and they loved it.
