OK, we know AB did a show in your city and he didn't go to your favorite restaurant/bar/attraction etc. You know what? I don't care.
I don't watch the show to find out what you like or dislike, I watch the show to see a few places in each locale and AB's reaction to those places. I realize that he isn't a native of that city or region and is going mostly to places that his producers set up, meeting friends he never met until the day before filming, and his producers are primarily looking for unique angles that make for good TV. He's obviously very familiar with some restaurants and chefs in certain cities, but he can't be expected to be expert in every city all over the world. That's not the point of the show. The show is personality driven with food as the "hook". Personally, I liked the SF show, the show in the Philippines, the one in Saudi Arabia, and pretty much all the shows that the locals grumble about in this forum. No one cares that you were offended except a few people in your city or country who have the same complaint so please, give it a rest. Yeah, I know, if only Tony had chosen YOU to take him around, then it would have been SOOO much better... but he didn't. Oh well~ (Steve in San Diego) |

AMEN TO THAT!!!
I can't stand the way people get so upset on this forum just because their state/country/city was featured on the show and Anthony did not go and see every thing that you wanted him to. If you want to do your own travel show, then you do one yourself and let Tony have his. The point of the show is NOT to always portray places in a perfect light nor show the "best of" such and such place. Tony fashions his show in the way Hunter S. Thompson fashioned his editorials and writing on events---a first person account of HIS experience, not of the event/places POV...but how the person reacts and what the person thinks of an event or place. It is a very creative and interesting way to recount a visit or event because it is more story-telling and less "informational" and list-like. If you want a best of show, then WATCH A BEST OF SHOW. |

Err.... now you can add Chile to the list, though amapola did have a good point about the flamenco music. The producer blew it on that one.
