I adore Anthony and his respect for so many different cutlures is why. He takes advice on dishes and tries it. I loved this episode. I never knew Colombia had changed so much! Through all of the difficulties the Colombian people have gone through they still wear a smile, change the community for the better and have realized the importance of neighbors, family and community. I adored this episode!

What an amazing transformation Columbia has undergone in the last 10 years. I am sure there are many here who are old enough to remember hearing about the brutality and violence that begot the city for so long it crippled it. Columbia certainly has thrown off its inky cloak to show the world what a great city it has become.

Anthony.. you're the man!
Thank you for doing the show about Colombia. So many bad things go to people's minds when they hear about Colombia that after watching the show is a great feeling to know that someone (not born in the country) has good things to say about it. Colombia is not only what people hear on the news, there's so much beyong that... Thank you again anthony for been so open minded and visiting Colombia |

FANTASTIC! I absolutely loved the show. It captured the essence of what we are, hard working, creative and very recursive people. Check out some of my country´s great food in creativeculinary.net and cookingcolombia.com as well as http://pachi-cookingcolombia.blogspot.com/ my blog I started a month ago. |

Looks like people are going to disagree with me based on the posts. First off I really enjoy your show and think you guys have the best job. With that said I thought your show could of potrayed Colombia in a much better way. I thought the show was years old but tonight I see that it was "Colombia Premier". I think many people have heard all the bad that Colombia use to be from the news so I'm not sure why I still heard "cartel, drugs, violence, Escobar, etc" so many times tonight. Also Cartagena has very BEAUTIFUL places to eat at and visit so I question why you guys went and had lunch at the "plaza". Also, the Medellin section was going great but why would you go to "las comunas"?? I am a very proud Colombian who was just there for 6 months actually. The show was good but I just thought you guys could of showed the true beauty of our country.

Anthony, thank you for showing not only the amazing culinary culture of our country, but the amazing strides our people have taken to bring peace and to survive through very difficult times. As you say: the people make the country, and tonight I feel very proud of being Colombian. I hope many people will visit our country and share your experience!

I agree with jp202. The show was great, but, in addition to showing a "drunk rooster being "decapitaded" by hand and rap music on a terrace by friendly "gang" members, I would like to have seen other aspects of Medellin; namely the new " infrastructure", a prosperous ecconomy, the beautiful shopping centers, El Poblado, El Metro, some reference to "la feria de Las Flores", the cosmopolitan side of Medellin and its modern and beautiful structures.
The show, although positive, still shows Colombia and its people as a third class country, which according to the show, turistically speaking, would only appeal to the very "adventurous" traveler, or someone who was actualy born a Colombian. Nontheless, the show portraits Colombia and, specifically Medellin, in a "better light" to the world. My kudos go to Anthony and its crew for having the initiative and courage to film the show in a place that only 10 years ago was considered one of the most dangerous on earth. |

Hello, Thank you for visiting my country Colombia and my city Medellin. I am very flattered that you chose Medellin and very proud. Although you did tried our different types of our delcious foods and I am glad you enjoyed them, I am disapointed with the areas that you showed on TV. You showed very poor areas were the marginal people live and where the drug lords lived in. Medellin has had a bad reputation and we are not all that bad. Medellin is alot more than poor people and drugs and poor houses, Medellin has alot of riches and beautiful areas that you could have visited and showed on your show. You did not show Downtown Medellin which is beautiful, the Train station, which was built by German engineers and our very modern architecture buildings and monuments. I hope one day to see our good side on your show Thanks Lilly

Excellent chapter!
That's the real face about Colombia. That's the people, that's our young people, our real chefs, our everyday cuisine, our neighborhoods, our public transportation, our popular culture.....why you guys are embarrased about we really are? I enjoyed this particular show minute by minute! |
