My husband and me just finished the show, and I have to tell you I was and still very excited watching it! I was born and raised in Cebu and came here in Chicago 15 years ago. I married a Caucasian guy and he wasn't really very enthused on my kind of foods, not that I can cook well. Anyway, his interest sparked when he watched Andrew Zimmern's Bizzare foods. He even recorded it for me. Your show just cemented my husband's curiousity in trying my foods, he is ready to try all the Filipino foods... that's very exciting as we are planning to go to Cebu end of this year! THANK YOU VERY MUCH for featuring my country! I really appreciate it. I hope you guys had fun back home! THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!!!!

We also just finished watching the show and we really enjoyed it. You did a great job Anthony!!
My husband is also Caucasian and he has been to the Philippines 3 times...mostly to Manila and Batangas (where I am from). Now he wants to go to Pampanga and Cebu. When he saw the pinakbet he was very excited and wants to eat it. He did not know we have a vegetable dish.....that's because I can't cook. Now I have to buy it from the store....it's a good thing we live here in Long Island, NY and there are stores nearby.
All the food featured in the show looked sooo good. I was salivating.
I also called my sister to make sure she watched the show....really excited about it.

Thank you for visiting and featuring the Philippines! It was very well done. Great job! I hope you go back again.

OMG!! The show was awesome!! Thank you, Tony!!
Wink I had to call my Mom to remind her to watch the show.
I'm from Cebu and I know a place in Mandaue that serves goat head in soy sauce & black beans. I ate some a couple of times when I was a kid. =) It was delicious!
The lechon made me drool! LOL. Augusto failed to introduce Lechon Paksiw and Tubâ! O.O
Also, I was hoping to see more food like Dinuguan(Dugo²), Balut, BBQ Chicken feet and various fruits!
Thanks to Augusto! If it wasn't for his video, I think Tony would pass on the Philippines.
I hope Tony and the crew had a blast in the Philippines, and will visit again! =)

That was a really excellent No Reservations! I was always wondering when would Tony be visiting the Philippines. I'm a Filipino-American and a inspiring chef, I felt so proud to see my own culture be highlighted on major TV air time. DAMN that Lechon was AWESOME!!! Its true that young Filipinos across the nation forget their beginnings and adopt a different culture. Just after watching the show I wanted to go back to the Philippines. I want to experience the Philippines, now that I'm an adult and food is my profession. Many, many, many THANKS Tony and the Travel Channel crew for visiting my mother land...when you can try some dinuguan/w rice(pork in pork blood stew or chocolate stew they call it, its f***ing good).

Just watched the missing scene & looked @ photos to see if maybe my unfulfilled feeling might go away...and it didn't. I thought for sure the breakfast of champions included longunisa or pan de sal & coffee. I really hope Tony goes back and does another episode. I've seen other shows where he really likes the food and I felt like in this one he was just ok with most of it, besides the adobo & lechon. The palabok he had...that looked so dry & nasty, but I've had it so juicy & tasty, it's one of my favorite dishes! Oh well...

Thank you for visiting the Philippines, Tony. all the food were great, but I saw that you had a lot of different kind of SINIGANGS. I was kinda sad coz you werent able to try a lot of other food the Philippines has to offer. How I wish you couldve tried the BALUT, just like Andrew Zimmern did when he featured the Philippines, or the DINUGUAN (blood stew), the LUGAW, HALO-HALO, different snails n stuff, the rice cakes, oh man, you sure missed a lot of good eats. I WOULD LOVE TO TOUR YOU in the PHILIPPINES. and show you how its done! haha. I'm kinda happy also for Agusto, I hope he could come home to the Philippines more often so he could experience more of his roots. Wink

I just want to thank you, Tony, and your staff for bringing US back home. Watching your show about my country, the Philippines, brought tears to my eyes. Not only did it fill that void that many of us Filipinos abroad feel, it also reminded us of who we are as a people. As regional as our cuisine is and as varied as a melting pot our identity may be, the show offered a humble glimpse of the Philippines. The sights and the sounds may be foreign to your millions of viewers, but to us, Filipino immigrants,it is like going back to your grandma's kitchen, even if it were only for the 2nd time (as in Augusto's case). While the hour-long show was only a snippit of the Philippines as "we" know it, what you have done, is starting the inscriptions on the very first lines on Philippine cuisine on that blank page worldwide. My hope is that others may experience the Philippines as you have... the people, the culture, the food. Our little teaser tonight only shows you the many wonders that there are in the Philippines... and all of its 7,000 islands.
And, you're right. We are way too f@#$%ing nice as a people. But that's how we like it.

Thanks for visiting the Philippines. Tony, you can also experience that
here in Hawaii. I have seen the show that you did with Lanai in Hawaii
and he never showed you the filipino way of hard core filipino cooking.
Let me know if you are in town, I will be your tour guide.

SmileThank you Tony and the rest of the crew for making this possible! Great Philippine cuisine and awesome scenery! I liked how you tried to find out what the "essence" of filipino cuisine and where it came from. There is so much to learn and I think you need to make another show because the Philippines has so much more to offer! Great job everyone!

Tony, thank YOU for NOT having to show balut and stuff. It is so played out. Tony's intention, you guys, is to show the world that Filipino food is not JUST Bizzare foods. We have a fare of fantastic world-class dishes which Tony exemplified. He did a fantastic job.

For him to say our Lechon is the best in the world, after tasting the lechon from Central and South America, is a flattering gesture from Tony.

With all that said, you know you got love from Filipinos, Mr Bourdain. You know it. We love you for doing this show!

Hi Tony,
I know its quite late for this but I want to thank you for featuring the Philippines and a part and parcel of its food and culture.

I think though, that it sort of defied the program's title "No Reservations" when it was all otherwise reserved. The street food in itself wasn't much elaborated, more so the finer, more distinct side of table food. I do hope that you come back and TRULY explore the Philippines the way your show has lived up to its name.

BTW, when you come back here, i suggest you go up north to the colder regions (suggest Mr. Zimmern, too) to try KALDERETANG ASUZENA.
Tony, its DOG in tomato sauce, green peas, bell pepper, potatoes and carrots.

That's just a teaser. Give it a second try and have a real experience. Smile

That and more, ONLI IN DA PILIPINS.

ANG SARAP MAGING PINOY!
