Bourdain's STD reference in the Chile episode should give the "Travel Channel" pause.

Referencing a common find in Chile, Bourdain says it's as "common as chlamydia at Burning Man."

Travel Channel management should do better. Bourdain should apologize in writing or folks should begin writing the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences to request the emmy be recinded.

Go troll somewhere else. If you don't like the show (which is crazy to even think someone wouldn't) then don't watch and don't complain. Bourdain doesn't really care what someone on the internet with an inflated self image thinks of him or his show.

I realize there are a lot of people watching and loving the show. Having lived, worked, and travelled to many places in the world I personally don't find the show that enlightening, so as you suggest I won't be watching. I only turned on the Travel Channel in the background while I was doing some work.

My argument isn't with Bourdain, who as you also suggest likely doesn't care (as he's not likely self aware enough to care). My argument is with the Travel Channel who produces and airs the show containing offensive behavior and material. The could have edited out the STD comments and the expletives they chose to 'bleep' over. Niether of those things add any value to the understanding of international food culture - it just plays to the low brow.

My argument is with Travel Channel for occupying the "travel" space on my cable system and then over filling it with food based programs. At the very least it would be nice if the food programs didn't reference chlamydia or other sexually transmitted diseases to bring dimension to their story telling. Is that really the best they can do?

You need to do yourself a favor and try to get some sort of a sence of humor. It was a joke, lighten up a little bit. They even have warnings after every commercial break about the mature subjects on the show, so if it really hurts your sensitive feelings turn it off. grow a pair.

I've got to add my $.02.....

One of the reasons I like this show is that it's not sanitized like so many others. Sure, some of his shows may be better than others, but so what? That's show biz. I'd rather hear straight talk from the heart by a host, rather than some script stolen from the pages of a Frommer's guide.

Hmm... someone just happens to turn on the TV and the Travel Channel is playing in the background, it's No Reservations, you don't like it so you write 13 POSTS TO THE MESSAGE BOARD????

I didn't care for Bridget so I just didn't watch her. If other people liked her show, fine by me. Not liking something and then writing a bunch of negative comments is pretty immature and they post warnings for mature audiences only.

Isn't it a lot easier to just change the channel?

And sorry to disappoint you but his ratings are quite high so he's not going away anytime soon.
