I know everyone is sick of this topic by now, but I just want to ask a quick question. I understand that no one will apologize for the "Romania" show and that you guys stand by it. Do you have any plans of re-doing the show, the way it should be done? I think this will please a lot of your viewers and your audience will grow (I think it's only fair you do that. You owe that to the country, to the people).

My only point is that you either make a mockery of all the contries you visit or make informative travel shows about all the countries, so basicaly present all the countries the same way. Going somewhere with a negative attitude and judging something before you get a chance to experience it it's not the way to do a travel show. And I also did not enjoy the air of superiority (Romanians are intelligent, educated ppl, who speak several languages as you could see. How many languanges do you speak Tony? How much do you know about culture and history? And just by tasting a bunch of foods does not make you entitled to judge - did you go to culinary school or something? So see, you really are not superior Tony, so please stop acting like it). Please visit Peles Castle, the Danube Delta, Sibiu, and many many more other beautiful places. Please don't look for the bad things since they can be found in every country (I'm sure Romania is not the home of the rude, mean people with primitive food you made it seem to be).

So please, do your homework, learn about a country's history and culture, organize a well thought through trip and go again. You don't have anything to lose, but only to gain, unless you make a mockery again.

Thank you and I am looking forward to your answer,

"Chit-fudge" [Hello]

I think that you're taking the show too seriously. It really isn't just a travel show nor is it a food show (and yes, he is an Executive Chef.) It's ENTERTAINMENT.

So feelings will be hurt (some of my neighbors in Baltimore are VERY upset by what he did in that city and I've heard similiar comments like yours about Sweden.)

I don't know how long you have been -- or are -- in the states, but NOT having seen the Romanian show I can only gather from ALL the MANY episodes of NR that I have seen, that you might have, as they say colloquially, "lost something in the translation."

In this case, a cultural translation. He's snarky, smug, sometimes off-putting, and in other cases, charming, it just depends.

If you want a "straight" travelogue, you need to contact RICK STEVES. He does Europe -- and he needs to expand. Ask him to tackle Eastern Europe. You'll get a nice, polite, historically accurate show, with beautiful pictures of all the key sites that the Romanian Tourist Bureau will just love.

With Tony, it's a gamble. And it's also entertainment -- not historical accuracy!
