There are numerous establishments that aren't overpriced and well over looked. I suggest after leaving some of the downtown spots e.i Proof.. head to Bardstown Rd. is a southern Greenwich Village. It is overflowing w/ethnic and laid back attitude.All w/in walking distance of each other. Also Frankfort Ave. From Irish Rover to Argentinian.
