I love Anthony's show -- the culture, his sense of adventure..... his sense of humor. I love almost every episode UNTIL they show animals either being abused (Argentina cattle having their private parts CUT OFF WITHOUT ANESTHESIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) or dead carcasses of entire animals-- it breaks my heart.

I know it is the cultures doing this. However, in a way, maybe it helps mobilize animal rights activists to make needed changes.

Eating good food should not require ABUSE OF ANIMALS!!!

PLEASE!!!!!!!!! DO MORE VEGETARIAN SHOWS AND/OR MAKE MORE STATEMENTS ABOUT TREATING ANIMALS PROPERLY.

Fantastic finale! Hilarious, poignant, just perfect from start to finish. One of the best episodes of the season, easily.

Yes, it was a great season because you came to my home country of Colombia. I just wished that you have spell the country's name correctly in your end of summer special, like you did throughout the Colombia episode. For future reference it's ColOmbia, not ColUmbia.
I hope you return to Colombia another time and perhaps visit the capital Bogotá.
We love your show, keep it real, as you always do.

Excellent show-complete with intentionally lousy Labor Day theme song.

I liked the segment where the lousy Romania Show is dealt with. (but did we have to see the blow-torched pig again?)

The creepy Maple Syrup Guy and the heavily armed Ted Nugent could be part of an upcoming Bourdain Halloween Special?

hey i love the show never miss, i was a little upset when you said that ted nugent created so much bad press for the travel channel. i thought you and uncle ted were both great. i guess there is still people that think that because you and ted dont see eye to eye politicaly, that you cant share good meat and have a good time. i enjoy your show and i enjoy uncle ted and would love to see him on your show again. p.s for those people that were really upset with ted just have them email him. im sure that he will be more than happy to endulge them...keep it up bro

I am truly concerned after the episode. Chef Bourdain had a new quirky hand thing going on that just kept jumping off the TV. I figured maybe he is trying to quite smoking now he has child. He was constantly folding his hands and flicking his thumbs. I hope all is well. If anyone knows anything please pass it on.

So I wasn't the only one who noticed the annoyance!

Tony, The Colombia episode was awesome. I think you single-handedly made Cartagena real estate jump a couple points! But you blew all your Colombian cool points when your ivy league "trusties" producers misspelled "Columbia" on the little video toaster graphic you had last night. This was right before you showed the Colombian food. WTF Tony! I couldn't enjoy the food again because I was still processing the mispelling! Ha Ha

Love the show,
Carlos

P.S. I was kind of confused regarding the differences in U.S. and foreign cuts of the show? I had no idea you guys cut different versions for different international markets. Are there cities you show in the overseas season that you do not show in the domestic season?

yeah, agree with everyone-- what a rousing finale to end this season!

as for Zamir??!! ha.. he reminded me of that guy in Pink Panther after Closeau( what's his name??!! escapes me) they even look alike .

ps: ah dig his brother-- the look of fondness & tolerance on his face as he looks at his brother.

Bourdain opens with a ukulele! Proof that he is indeed ahead of the curve. Although he didn't look too happy about it. Hmmm.

Love the general snark and educational bent, but am dismayed that despite Bourdain's opening with his profession of love for meat-in-a-casing, he has yet to visit Milwaukee or its slightly northern neighbor, Sheboygan, collectively home to Usingers, Klements, Johnsonville... Where they eat double brats on round hard rolls (no joke) topped with butter and german mustard. You haven't felt chest pain until you eat meat in Milwaukee, and you can't say you love sausage without a visit, at least for comparison's sake. (The beer doesn't hurt either - another soft spot, I think?)

Shame on you, Anthony Bourdain. I cannot believe the way you dished Zamir, certainly one of the most entertaining characters you've shared your TV-time with. I will always look forward to a show that includes him (if he ever speaks to you again.) I read your Romania blog and I think you let your feelings for the experience there cloud your judgment about the show's quality. It WAS entertaining. Do you think your loyal audience was not entertained to see you in such a cheesy place as Dracula's Castle eating crap? Have you become such an elitist that you can't allow your audience to see you enjoying anything less than the best sushi on Earth? I remember shows of old where you actually said that the food wasn't that great - I can't remember the last time you ate something crummy and let us enjoy your discomfort. Score: Talking extensively about poop - 1: Letting us meet your dinner before it's slaughtered - 2: Zamir, sober, drunk, day or night - 10. PS, my husband and I agree that this finale was not entertaining. You have what many, including myself, consider a fantastic job. Your whining and nit-picking have not left us hungry for more.

A nice little doggie bag of an epi -- and I mean that in a good sort of way. Sometimes, the doggie bag goo tastes better the next day spices and all. It was nice to remember the funnier moments this season [the camel-toe soup had me laughing like an infidel] as well as remember the poignant moments in Laos and the contemplative floral arranging art from Japan.

Obviously, the faux authentic Romanian castle was meant to be a tourist trap. After communism, inflation, and a problem with dictatorships and corruption the likes of which Americans haven't seen since the day before yesterday, that castle was one of the few things Romanians had going for them [well not counting the great cultural value of the oppressed Roma]. Bourdain was kinder in his visit to the New York hotel in Vegas than the castle in Romania but both are sanitized caricatures. Nobody's going to be fooled.

Or -- uh -- I should say:

Nobody else is going to be fooled...

Looking forward next season.

He wanted to end the episode with this video, but decided against it.

I never write on these...ever. Obviously Mr. Bourdain probably does not read these either, but just in case. Tony...thank you. Thank you for putting the balls back in cooking shows. In our world of Rachel Ray's its utterly refreshing to see someone just make REAL TV. You inspire millions to cook, travel, and live how they want to live, and you are the rockstar of the culinary world.

Anthony obviously has no idea where he is heading with his 'Anything Goes' attitude towards eating-his diet is so ubhealthy and immoral, I will be surprised if he lives another 10 years. Especially when he made the Ad with him eating a Heart from a vending machine-totally sick demonstration of a lowclass person who is wasting all his life eating sub-human foods only to enjoy the flickering pleasures of the tongue-what a waste of life!

That's not Anthony. The guy in that commercial with the cow's heart from the vending machine is Andrew Zimmern for 'Bizarre Foods'.
