And one of them got cut from the show.

The Caribbean Food and other cuisine in the South Bronx is great and it's definitely a part of my borough, but the Bronx is a whole world onto itself about which you saw nothing. It was as if you ate at Charles De Gaulle during a layover and claimed you visited Paris.

I'm a transplant from the Upper East Side (and while I enjoy Papaya King, I recognize that it's not exactly the coup de grâce of cooking in New York). I don't claim to be an expert on the Bronx. I've lived in Riverdale for 5 years and I rarely venture to the rest of the Bronx (never at night). Yet even I know that you haven't experienced what the Bronx has to offer until you've experienced los dominicanos, los puertoricanos, a bit of soul food and street food and yes, even the cliche of Arthur Avenue.

Don't skip the Stadium, I'm a die hard Yankee fan, but don't stop there with a tour guide in a private car and pretend you've seen the Bronx. You haven't. I submit that the Bronx is as foreign to you and to most of your viewers as most places you've toured on your show. It deserves it's own full episode, not a single restaurant in the Brooklyn half of the Outer-Borough show.

A real lifelong Bronxite can direct you better than I can, but here's a humble list of suggestions to get you started:

El Economico, Broadway between 231st & 232nd (The name says it all, but the quality is second to none, my personal favorite)
El Bohio Lechonera, 791 East Tremont Ave (Similar, to El Economico, but Puerto Rican instead of Dominican. Don't mix them up in front of the wrong people.)
Arthur Ave (Little Italy of the Bronx)
Hunts Point (the new Fulton Fish Market)
Mo Gridders (A fabulous BBQ place nestled in Hunts Point Auto Sales and Service)
City Island (Great local seafood in the Bronx)

SLF, You took the words out of my mouth. I myself have lived in Riverdale as long as you but my job but as a saleaman who covers the Bronx, I have uncovered an increidibly eclectic food scene stemed from vibrant ehtnic neighborhoods both new and old.

The coverage of the Bronx last night was terrible.

To add to your list:

Dominicks in Little Italy: One of many fabulous restuarants in this neighborhood. Arguably some of the best Italian food in the city. No menus...you just order!

Com Tam Ninh Kieu- great little Vietnamese restuarant in mini and growing Vietnamese enclve on Jerome Ave in The Bronx

Bruckner Bar and Grill- Fabulus restaurant with the friendliess staff around. the Hipsters are changing SOBRO and tunirng this neighborhood around....

204 and Grand Concourse...growing Korean enclave

Parkechester...one of the hotest neighborhoods in the city and full of middle eastern, and african cuisine

Woodlawn and the many Irish restaurants

White Plains Rd and the ethnic Jamaican Cuisine

I can go on and on....

I have never posted anything on the internet, not on any forum or blog. But I am so angry about the No Reservations Outer Boroughs episode that I feel compelled to comment. In the Bronx we are starved for good quality dining information. Imagine my anticipation when I heard that No Reservation would be exploring all four outer boroughs. Imagine my disappointment when a short, grim, snowy, and yes snarky, mid-episode segment took me to one Bronx joint, and then after commercial, returned to Brooklyn. I look to this show for dining suggestion, places to seek out in my travels. Are you seriously telling me that my home borough has nothing else worth trying?
