Thanks for the segment on Detroit. I've lived here for my whole life, over 50 years, and I think you managed to capture the spirit of the people who live here and the feel of the city itself brilliantly during the short time allotted. Well done.

Frankly, I could not agree less. Throughout the series Tony has visited a number of locations that exemplify both his personal tastes, and flare for aggravated analysis. No place in the U.S. deserves an hour long episode more than the Motor City. Not only would his attention, help stimulate some of the actual culinary gems the city has to offer, but the ever-unraveling drama that is the city of Detroit would simply make good television. Tony claims often, that his favorite band of all time is the stooges. He barely gives a nod to the importance of Detroit rock n' roll (Grande Ballroom mean anything to anyone??) in the measly twenty min devoted to our city. Frankly im shocked that he allowed this opportunity to pass, only to highlight three very average spots without consulting any of the the most passionate Detroiters struggling to maintain what dignity the city has left. Chock this one up to missed opportunity. I would love to see Tony give Mo-town another chance, because we were simply short changed.

I agree with topcid unfortunately. I'm really surpised Tony didn't go to Lafayette Coney not to mention some of the coolest bars ever... The Bronx, Honest Johns, Old Miami, etc...

I'm really hoping that Detroit gets another chance.

I agree 20 minutes was serious short shrift
to all three cities

Could he have at least mentioned when he was in
Hamtramck at the Polinia? He had no problem
mentioning Dearborn and bty the stats are that Dearborn has the largest Arub community outside
the mid-east not just in the US

Should have gone to Mexican Town and Greek Town.

You can't do any city justice in 20 minutes. But that wasn't the point of the show, which was to showcase the Rust Belt.

Given the 20 minute limitation, though, I thought the segment on Detroit was extremely well done.

Having grown up just outside of Detroit, how is it that they missed Greektown completely? I was beyond excited when I heard that Detroit was going to be featured. I kept waiting for a single mention of ANY Coney Island....but nope, not a thing. And who thought it would be good to come to Detroit in the middle of winter? That was just poor planning. I really think that given the 20 min alloted, there could have been a more diverse look at what the Motor City is all about. Smile Tony needs to come back and take a second look.
