Tony, your Baltimore show just plain sucked and you know it. You did you best to find signs of life in Buffalo and Detroit but you also did your best to make Baltimore look as bad as possible. If you don't like the place -- OK, don't go.
Where was Faidley's in Lexington Market or any of the bars or restaurants that still do crabs the traditional way (not frozen Alaskan crap)?
This show was beneath you. You usually go out of your way to respect the places you visit rather than try to make them appear worse than they already are.

Tony, what in the world was the show on Baltimore all about? Honestly, I live here and hardly recognized the "dump" portrayed on the show. Someone really dropped the ball on this and missed numerous opportunities to really experience the city as she is. For example, you could have enjoyed having lake trout at fabulous farmer's market on Sunday. What about communities like Hampden, Belvedere Square, Canton and Reservoir Hill. These are full of local merchants and foods. What about Fells Point and it's ever increasing Latino population? Had you gone there, you would have found lots of small mexican and salvadoran restaurants and street food vendors. There is also Baltimore's Korean and Pakistani populations. Just 10 minutes from where you were, you could have experienced an array of intoxicating foods from these new immigrant groups. The next time (AND YOU OWE US ONE!)you visit Baltimore. Please get in touch with me. Let me show you the real Baltimore.

Sharon, you are so right. Go back to Baltimore Tony. I like your irreverent take and that's why I watch the show - DDD just gets boring, and Zimmer is a jerk - but you assassinated Baltimore. I'm not saying you should turn into Rick Steves, but you can be snarky and still tell something like the truth.

You have really be supplying threads for this. I hoped that Tony had a better attitude when he worked here. That would be a story. I thought it was funny that they went to great lengths not to so the inner harbor, but did so to promote the wire. I am planning to do more on-line writing as I am coming up with, "Dining Without Tony." Basically poetry about Baltimore food that I love, some of its traditions and the restuarents and markets that I have enjoyed dining at. Many no longer in existance, but that had an atmosphere that should be preserved. I already have several writings posted.

I love Anthony Bourdain and enjoy most of his shows. Even provide a poetic work that was for another show that would prevent that much regretted shrinkage. When my writing is underway, I will link it here.

The "Baltimore" show was outrageous and makes me doubt Anthony Bourdain has any idea what he's doing. To visit a city as diverse as Baltimore and film only the areas depicted in The Wire shows a complete lack of research and ignorance of a very historical city. If Bourdain wants to look down his nose at Baltimore, so be it, it's his loss and allows those of us who know and love the city to keep the true gems to ourselves.

I have been a fan but was so disappointed with your representation of Baltimore. The use of the criminal turned actress to represent Baltimore was horrible. I am born and raised in Maryland. You missed out and painted a very ugly portrait of our wonderful city. The bringing up "not snitching" was horendous due to our murder rate. I will not watch any longer!!! There are wonderful foods and beautiful places in our city, every island and city has parts that aren't so nice. Why did you choose to only focus on criminals and ugly places? All your other shows you show beauty and great food. You have done the state of Maryland wrong!!!

Anthony what the hell? I love this show and when I heard there was a segment for Baltimore I made sure the DVR was set for record. To my dismay what I saw was an attempt to make an ever growing and very prosperous city like Baltimore look like it was a run down city with no history, charm or economic stability. With ever changing culture events like ArtScape, StarScape (Musical Influence). Schools like MICA extruding different views and approaches towards artistic design. World renowned John Hopkins Hospital & Research Lab. Well let me stop but I think you get the point.

In Baltimore there has been a resurgence of many local locations mentioned above like Canton which was once known as Brewers Hill a former brew mill location, Federal Hill a former subsidized housing location right in the South West corner of downtown right off of Light Street & Key Hwy and of corse Fells Point; Where were these area's? Little Italy, little Rome? After watching that episode I feel light I had just watched a crime committed in the name against my city. Anthony please get to me because I know if you stayed a month in this city I could show you something different to do every day that doesn't have to be a country wide socially typical event or occurrence. The people here are amazing and I have done some traveling. There is a reason Baltimore is named charm city.

Anthony please give Baltimore another chance and realize the underlined beauty in this city with the relics of the 18th & 19th centuries, updated architectural and cultural environments and characters that your bounded to meet along your way.
