Its about as uncomfortable watching this insecure kid thinking he is too cool for school as it is watching Zimmer eat bugs. But, I would rather watch Zimmer anyday, he at least has some self confidence. Bourdain blabs on and on about how he knows this underground place in the UK and this one in blah blah blah, then he prances around getting drunk and looking silly acting like he knows some cool lifestyle that is replicable in any out of the way punk band venue. Eat more crow and less ego.

I can't sit through an episode of Zimmern's show because parades around going "Ooh, check this out! I'm eating testicles and stinky tofu and chicken feet! Aren't I exotic and bizarre?" He makes it seem like non-American foods are novelties. To him, traveling and eating is a stunt. It's just so gross. He also spits out things he doesn't like, which is just so rude.
Zimmern is a tourist, Bourdain is a traveler. |

Ugg - that show sounds like it was written by an elementary school teacher for elementary school kids.
I find the tone of it to be pretty disrespectful to the host countries' food cultures and Zimmern comes off like a boob. I loved Tony's barely concealed distain for him in that bogus cross-over episode. |
