Just now, I was watching Bourdain's Sweden episode, and he made a comment the Travel Channel wanted Bourdain to bring in more things to the show to raise his ratings in the 18-25 demographic. I am 22 years old. I thought people my age did like Bourdain. So, if not, what is the typical age of viewers for Bourdain? How do channels even get this sort of information? It must be severely lacking in accuracy.

I don't see how that works either. I'm in my 50s. I never heard anyone explain how they calculate their demographics.

I found a link about demographics for television.
http://www.tracmedia.org/Demographics.aspx Though, it isn't very specific and the copyright is 1998 with an even earlier publishing date of 1988. |

I've tried to look up Nielsen ratings on the show before but all I've ever found are the top 20 listings and nothing on this show or other shows on the travel channel. Is there a site that lists all the cable shows with ratings and demographics?
My guess is that Man vs. Food & Bridget would be the highest rated for the younger demographic, though I really have no idea if this is true. |
