In the srilanka episode there is the mention that it is different from India. I want to point that the Srilankan food is very similar to the food in the state of India called Kerala. The food of Kerala is very different from what normally people think as Indian.
India more than China has extremely different cuisines, as the culture and language in the various Indian states are different. The entity called India was established only in 1947, till then it was a bunch of independant states. Kerala has been the spice capital of the world for centuries. The syrian christian community of which I am part of has a cuisine of its own. After being in US for 15 years now I have gone back to the syrian christian cuisine, made from scratch and which full of flavour. Only thing is it not as easy as 123. |
