i dont give a damn what anybody says----this romania show is a CLASSIC! Zamir's dry sense of humor perfectly matchs Bourdains smart-ass remarks. The halloween party was a true gem,especially seeing Bourdain with a knife through his skull. Zamir is a superstar! His drinking truika when he hurt his back was hysterical. I have been with Bourdain from the very beginning and this is my very favorite episode. The next favorite is Greek Islands.Great work Tony ,keep it up.

One of the best episodes I've ever watched..
Zamir is amazing..I was very sad that day, up until the moment I tunned in..I had great laughs!!! Thanks Tony and Zamir..bring Zamir back soon!

I was channel surfing and stumbled onto the Romania episode the other night and I'm glad I did. I know this episode was widely thought to be “disastrous” with much of the blame falling on Zamir. I didn't see it that way at all. There were certainly missteps and clearly Tony was not the happiest camper. But I think Tony is at his funniest when his “bad attitude and sour disposition” are on overdrive, as in this episode. Whether Russian Zamir was the best choice of guide for an episode on Romania is debatable; however, he still provided the perfect foil for Tony, and somehow it all worked. And that truika-fueled, long-winded birthday toast Zamir gave was both hilarious and puzzling. Who knew the furry little guy had that much to say? I laughed my way through the entire episode . . . again!

I agree with you, babsbevi, the Romania episode is my fave, followed by the Greece and Sardinia episodes. Now that we've met Tony's family, I for one am curious if Zamir has a wife and children. Will we ever meet Mrs. Zamir????

OMG, that is a classic!! The whole family was hunkered down and watching it and laughing our asses off! Poor Tony and tipped a beer to him, lol.
