Anthony (& whoever),
You hit it!! That's Montana, Millionaires & Food Stamps... I'm sure you know there's more to Montana than Livingston & Paradise Valley but you did get a great view of what Montana is all about. Looking at the show, I "think" you visited late spring (snow on the mountains). Currently, the snow is melted and it's a wonderful time here. Too bad you didn't go OVER the Absaroka's and into the Boulder Valley!!! You know, if you want or need additional ideas or if you just want some REAL TIME OFF and a VACATION, contact us!!! We have some ideas for either you or a new show for the Travel Channel!! |

I agree! I just moved to the Gallatin area after living in New York for 10 years. My sister had moved here a few years ago from Florida and is engaged to a rancher in Havre, MT. They are getting married next August in the bear paw mountains and serving BBQ Bison. I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this show about Big Sky. If you're ever in the area you should stop by Stacey's old faithful for a beer. I think you would get a kick out of this historical watering hole at Gallatin Gateway. Maybe after my fiance sees this show he will be extra motivated to move here from NYC...where he has lived all his life. Thank you!

I disagree - Going to Livingston and calling it a Montana show is like doing a show on Idaho and only going to Sun Valley and Ketchum.
It was a great show and I enjoyed the scenery but Livingston is not representative of the rest of Montana. I would like to see some TV time on Missoula, Kalispell, or even out east like Wolf Point. Anthony needs to come back and go someplace else. Example – Helena’s Thai restaurant, Missoula’s Brew pubs, and Whitefish’s great Italian restaurant. Maybe a show on Glacier park? |

I hate when people come to Montana and have non-natives tell them what Montana is. Montana is not some tourist destination, this is my home! I'm 6th generation Montanan and to heard these people talk about Montana because they have lived here for 20 years is a joke!! I agree the show needed to go to Missoula, Kalispel area and not Livingston. But I think he should have spent more time with the Native americans and exploring there art and culture and not some tourist you decided to stick around.

I hope you all see that I originally said there's more to Montana than Livingston & Paradise Valley??? Livingston IS representative of the livingston area.... No it's not Libby and the far NW nor is it the Flathead Valley, The Bob, the Mission Mountains, Missoula or the Bitterroot Valley. It's not the "high plains from Deer Lodge to Helena. It's not the Lewis & Clark Discovery of Great Falls. It's not the Missouri Breaks. It's not the High Line. It's not Judith Gap.... It's not the plains of Miles City, Glendive, Sidney or Wolf Point BUT it is Montana!!! Something we can all be proud of!! Notice----I did not mention Billings. That's where I live but...... Montana is my home!!

I'm watching your show about Livingston, You hit the nail on the head with Danny Larhan and Tim Bowers. These guys are the REAL Montana Boys. Russell Chatham on the other hand is NOT what Livingston is about, a washed up old man who sees our beautiful Paradise valley in a fog. Who has made his way in the pockets of others. And yes there are many more Beautiful and Amazing parts of Montana that you need to come back to visit.

I agree that all of Montana is beautiful!! And the Billings area is very nice. But come on, I can't be the only one who is disappointed in the lack of true Montana heritage that was left out of this show, i.e. Western art, western poets and the native American culture??? True Montanans please speak up.

Thank you so much for featuring one of my favorite authors, Jim Harrison, and a favorite artist, Russell Chatham. That had to be one memorable dinner: fine home-cooked food in a beautiful setting in the company of very interesting hosts & guests.

Not to insult Montana residents resentment of the treatment of their state by this show but that utterly stupid comment out of nowhere about Hannity's brain has left me perplexed. What would be the purpose of knowingly alienating a portion of your audience with a statement that isn't funny, clever, honest or original but definitely insulting to those whose values may conflict with yours but still watch your program? I'm sure Bourdain's producers thought it funny. I'm sure his crew of writers et.al. did so to. Maybe even The Travel Channel honchos got a big guffaw out of it. I wonder though if those that pay the bills (sponsors) care when people like me stop tuning in cause if we want GARBAGE POLITICAL STATEMENTS WE'LL TURN ON NBC!

A joke? Let's see. Every time those like you read or hear viewpoints you oppose you whip out the usual monikers of Nazi/facist/intolerant etc. But when something like this comes out, you say hey darn, it's just a joke so get a sense of humor!!!
Unbelievable. |

Wow! That's Livingston these days? What happened to The Wrangler and The Saloon? I played in The Wrangler as a kid touring around with a rock band staying in the old whorehouses on the second floor. We'd finish out night the same time as the country band next door at The Saloon and all head up to the roof with our drinks of choice to watch the enevitable conflicts resulting from too much liquor and opposing veiw points on what was good music. I remember being particularly stoked to be playing at the same place that Jimmy Buffet played in the movie Rancho Deluxe with Jeff Bridges and Sam Waterston. Ran into a few of the guests from the show at some point I'm sure. As I live in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, I've got to agree with hikingeek though; as beautiful as Paradise Valley is Montana is so much more than the little slice that Livingston represents. But I would imagine that if one were from any of the locations that No Reservations has ever visited, you would no doubt being saying, "Yea, but you missed this and you misssed that". Perhaps a well intentioned letter to the right person at the Montana film commision might illicite a better cross representation of the state for the next program that comes through. Personally I don't think it was so much about the specific location.

I agree with YYtims9, the remark about Hannity was totally not necessary, like him or not, it just didn't need to be said. I really like Tony and his narration, but have now been jaded because of a stupid, immature political remark that had nothing to do with his show.

Wow, what a bunch of sensitive sally's. Who in the world is Sean Hannity anyway to enjoy so many people running to his defense? You would think the guy is the Pope. The guy is just another talking head.
Im sure Hannity could care less what some travel host said about his brain. Sometimes I don't agree with Tony's point of view, but you people need to realize that the whole show is about Tony's point of view about the places and people he visits and the food he tastes. I dont care who Tony insults, if its funny I will still laugh. So to all of you that were offended by a totally meaningless remark, go on your one man/woman boycott's of the show, switch the channel, watch your Glenn Beck or Sean Hannity reruns while thinking you are totally sticking it to that "dirty anti-american god-hating liberal". You really won't be missed and I'm sure Tony will do just fine. As long as Tony keeps going to interesting destinations, eating great food, and meeting quirky locals, he can throw in all the political remarks and personal jabs he wants. Speaking of which, Tony I was totally offended by your remarks about Spencer Pratt and Paris Hilton's little dog on the Thailand show. Why would you want to feed a poor defenseless poodle to a snakehead fish? That's just mean man. |

Anthony,
You have got to be freakn kidding me! Just when I thought the show couldn't get any better. The episode on Patagonia, the episode with your brother in Uraguay, outstanding. Now this episode in Livingston, MT. Brother you really hit it out of the park. I am a big fan and somehow the show just keeps getting better. I'd love to see you visit one of my favorite places - Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada. Big time kudos to you and everyone involved in putting the show together! |

I really enjoyed last night's episode on Montana. It's funny that Anthony stayed in one of the ranches part of Montana Bunkhouses. I just came back from a week's vacation at one of the other ranches, located in Roundup, Mt. I absolutely LOVED it! Best vacation I've EVER taken! It was nice to see Anthony visit one of the ranches and I'm glad he enjoyed himself. If anyone ever wanted to visit a working ranch, I'd DEFINITELY recommend booking through the woman that scheduled Anthony's ranch visit.

I was fortunate enough to be born and raised in Livingston where I spent my misguided youth drinking beer and whiskey and chasing wild women at rodeos and downtown bars. I lived there when there were 22 bars, 4 churches, and no art galleries, but the natural beauty has never changed.
Dan Lahren's older brother Larry, the "Fighting Archaeologist" as he is know in some parts of the country, was one of my closest friends growing up. I remember baby sitting Dan as he was 12 years younger than Larry, sort of an accident of sorts. A small group of us kept the local Livingston police department busy for all of our high school years and many thereafter. We were legends at the time, chalking up more bar room fights and wild parties in a month than many normal people experience in a lifetime. So many of us left a few years after high school to seek fame and fortune in the real world. Most of us manage to return but not as often as we want to. Ah, the good old days. Thanks for taking me home once again. Pismo Beach, California.... |

One last comment. I couldn't care less about Hannity. It's the fact that I tuned in to watch a show about travel and food. This is an escape. I don't want to know for any reason, in any capacity, what the host and/or writers think about anything other then the topic at large. Politicos and the sycophants that support their particular belief can find other venues. When I tune in to The Weather Channel I want to hear about the weather, not Jim Cantore's personnel opinion about how adversely an approaching hurricane may affect the Republican National convention. When I watch a show on The Travel Channel please produce a show that provides this.
There is nothing here about over sensitivity or lack of sense of humor. It's all about wasting my time advertising yourself as one thing and opportunistically inserting in a political view (or potshot) that has nothing to do with the subject at hand. |

I have always wanted to travel to Montana! After watching the show I know that i have to make it happen! I think your state is btyful! I see that some people were upset about being left out. I know that Montana could never fit into one show. Perhaps you will be represented well at different time. Like many states in our great country it can be night and day from one end of the state to the next. In this moment i enjoyed the show, the topic, the town, and the people in it for good or bad and in the future i will tune n if the word Montana was used at all. Thanks
