I totally enjoyed my 2 weeks in Australia, Sydney, Melbourne and the Outback from Dec. 12, 1999 thru Jan 10th 2000! My first night in Sydney was at the Hilton, where I dined on grilled Kangaroo!. It was delicious. I explored the Sydney harbour on one of the tour ferries, explored a few outer islands, and shopped til I dropped! As an archaeologist, I enjoyed the ongoing research opportunities that added to my own research back in the states. I found the country and its people very hospitaple, kind, and helpful. The richness and diversity of the people, the cosmopolitan richness of the population representing every nation, was exciting and broadend my social experience as a citizen of the world outside. I found enrichment as a person, an American that serves me well in interacting with people from other parts of the globe. Travel, for any reason, work, pleasure enriches the soul, and benefits the whole. I hope I have the opportunity and finances to travel again. When we learn about other cultures and nations by first hand expereinces, we not only enrich ourselves, we strengthen the ties that bind us together as one human family.

just watched "top ten bridges" on the travel channel. they mentioned the sydney bridge as being number 8 on the list and how it is in australias capital. im from australia and the capital is not sydney it is canberra. i dont know how to contact the travel channel to let them know of their mistake. it is really embarrasing. any clues how to forward this to someone? maybe they can dub over it (?) oh well if not, it just looks bad on their end.
