We were in Sydney in Feb. 2008 and to us the
weather was like in the US Northwest. We had drizzle and rain but it was warm. We used jackets/umbrellas everyday. Travel was by the trolley and it took awhile to get used to the city but we found out way around & enjoyed it. Very Metro inside the city limits. People were polite but not overly friendly. We were there shy of a week and we learned about business & real estate and quite a bit of history too. We found a warmer reception outside, in the smaller towns. The food is very bland and expensive, but it all was. Even a can of soda is $2-$3 a can. But I would recommend going & walking the streets. We visited several churches and art galleries and shopping is always a fun experience. Yes, they wear black but we felt our accent gave us away, before our clothing did. Students love to talk with you. Just go and travel. It expands the mind! |
