When Andrew Zimmern visited the Philippines, I was excited to see him experience the real-deal, foodwise, in my home country. However, he missed trying out roasted Fruit Bat. Yes, it's smelly, dark and hairy. Anyways, my uncles (love them very much!) would roast them first on open fire, then remove the skin (and hair) and place them back on the fire until it is fully cooked. Surprisingly enough, it tastes like regular chicken. Delicious!

I love bats so it would be hard for me to eat them....if I knew what it was before I was served. Smile I'm sure they taste great....

In Phnom Penh, they had roasted bats at the street market. I couldn't eat the bat, but I tried the spiders. Very good!
