Okay, this is an old subject, but I am determined to muscle down a durian fruit...I was at my local International Market(ASSI International) and found a Durian fruit ice cream...bought it, ate some, and didn't hate it... it's a dumbed down version for the American taste buds, but is a good jumping-off point. It wasn't as sweet as domestic ice cream, though most confections from Asia tend to be less sweet overall...behind the sweet was a moderate fried onion taste...but picture fried onions that have been sitting out on a countertop for about 2 weeks...I will give a full report of the actual fruit once I've tasted it...
