Friends and I just spent an amazing New Years holiday in South Lake Tahoe. Instead of the usual casino or hotel lodging, we decided to rent a house. The house was located in Stateline, where the casinos are, just six blocks from Heavenly Ski Resort on the NV side. The house was called Maison Mallard, a 5 bed/3 bath home we rented through a group called Buckingham Properties. The house was incredible, lodge/cabin feel, outdoor hot tub, pool table, the works! AND we could bring our dogs. We purchased Buddy Passes at Heavenly which was the best deal and learned that if you purchase 3-5 day passes you could apply them to a season pass in the spring with huge savings. Lots of restaurants in the area too including a new spot called Elevations, a bistro, definetly worth checking out.
