does anyone know of places to serch for gold or gems around the green mountain state.i have panned around plymouth with limited luck.any advice would help thank you

goto newhampsire rocks. its a msn group i have some great info there about VT. huntington gorge is full of pyrite. mt belvidere(sp) is a nice garnet place and many many others. go over into NH to find flourite, quartz, beyrl. aquamarine.....you are in a very nice place to find treasure. Value? well im not sure but wow the fun....just out of barre on 25 past orange, look for coppermine rd. follow it in look for a mine in that area. use google earth to locate it. my son and i got some great peacock rock there very pretty, (calcopyrite). it shimmers in purple,gold,blue. look at mindat.org for localities
