How do the Machigenga shave and cut their hair? I notice the facial hair on Mark and Ollie, however the Machigenga seem to never show any facial hair and always have short hair.

i noticed that as well, but i also noticed that they didnt have really any body hair at all, anywhere.

I noticed that Jose got a haircut sometime during the taping of the show.

I don't think the Machigenga have a lot of body hair anywhere except their heads.

Jose's hair/haircut really confused me. In the first few episodes he appeard to have a sort of mullet..."Mullet Jose" was quite a regular character up until the episode where his son went missing, afterwhich he disappeared from the show. Of course "Chief Jose" with short hair remained ever present. This lead me to question whether there were actually 2 Jose characters... "Mullet Jose" and "Chief Jose". I finally concluded that there was only one Jose. However, I began to question this theory after seeing the last episode, in which "Mullet Jose" appears on 2 separate occasions.
I would like to get to the bottom of this mystery. Were "Mullet Jose" and "Chief Jose" one and the same? Were there 2 Joses'? Or was this some kind of trickery? I need to know...
