After watching all the episodes again along with the finale I am assuming that before Mark and Olly endured the bee trial that it was known they were not stinging bees. Yes? Since in the last episode, Olly clearly was trying to protect Mark by offering to take his punishment (the ants) as well so that Mark wound not be put in a potentially life threatening situation. On the bee episode, nothing was shown about preventing Mark from going so they must have known they were biting and not stinging bees?
Before watching the last episode I thought Mark was going to far in tempting fate! I am the director of a summer camp in Western Massachusetts and I have watched two children go into anaphylactic shock due to bee stings. Unfortunately, both times it was before we knew about an allergy. Fortunately, both children were fine and left the ER with Epi-pens. These were very intense and emotional times for all involved and we (luckily) were only 15 minutes from a hospital.
I have also been trained that even after injecting the epinephrine the person should still get to a hospital. What is the plan if Mark gets stung and does go into anaphylaxis? There is a plan, right?
