If this tribe is so remote, how did the shaman get a glass bottle and the metal pot he cooked with?

Did you not see "Show me the Money"? They cannot create metal or glass, but they can trade goods down the river at a nearby village. They traded coffee, cotton and Manioch in order to get machetes. I am sure that the shaman does the same thing.
