I am amazed at the few people who have issues with this show! This is a very touching reality show. How can this posibbly be considered racist, or degrading? These people were probly curious about westerners as well. They seem happy with the men and have indeed accepted them into thier tribe as family members. Im sure that crews didnt just show up and refuse to leave, All were asked and all accepted. If you really think that this show is degrading to black people and women becuase it shows nudity then you must think.. GOd made us all nude, they had the courage to stay that way. THere are many nudists around here white and other wise. I dont know why this beautiful show has to be turned into a black /white disscusion. Color has nothing to do with it. And black bodies are a beautiful thing that God has made. You need Jesus!

I just came across this site today after watching the series and enjoying it tremendously. I cant believe some the comments about nudity and race. Five minutes into the first episode, I never even noticed the nudity. Some people need to open up their minds. I was expecting intelligent discussions and comments here.

They chose to stay nude? it's a lot cheaper to walk around with the thing in a penis gourd, because if you wear clothes you got to make them. What would they make clothes out of. Did Ollie and Mark come across a small textile mill on the island? Also you have to wash clothes. If the men walk around naked I'm wondering if the women are completely nude and they put on a grass skirt for the show. The more advanced women of the Amazon go completely nude.

Redmoon never noticed the nudity. Who believes this? Men with their penis in a gourd and women with their mammary glands hanging and this dude didn't notice. That's a good one.

I'm throwing in my hearty "amen" as well here This show has become a staple Sunday night watch for me and my husband. From the day the first Mek episode aired months ago to tonight's Kombai episode, we have felt as if we're a part of new family. When Sentinol died we mourned, when the huts caught fire we wanted to rush in and carry buckets of water, when Markus was ill we were worried, and when the boys had to leave we laughed and cried. It's the same with the Kombai, even though it's only a few weeks in, the hubby and I are still right there, whatever the situation (like when Olly went to the treehouse my hubby knew what he felt as he's afraid of heights too). Whichever tribe they're with and whatever the situation, we're glad to be able to be "there" and take part, even if it's just in spirit. With only a few more Kombai epsiodes left I hope we get a new "family" soon! Does anyone know where the boys headed off to for the new season and when it might air? I didn't even realised that although I'd been reading the forums for months now I had never registered so I'm sure I've missed out on a lot ugg! Oh well, better late than never as they say, at least I'm registered now so I won't miss a thing from now on yey!

I'm 100% with Redmoon on the nudity, it's very easy to forget such things when you're watching and become so immersed in the rich history of the tribes and how they live on a day-to-day basis. I don't know, maybe it is just me and Red on this, but somehow I don't believe we're the only ones. I suppose it also helps to forget because I was rasied in both London and NY and spent many summers in the south of France where nude beaches are as common as daisies. That or the fact that I'm a naturalist at home as well as an artist so I see things in ways others don't, especially in a way Truthseeker doesn't. Honestly, it's getting so tiring to have to deal with people like this ugg! Bad enough to have to read Georgia's rants all the time, then we had that unbelievable idiot asking about 'shlongs' all the time (thank goodness his posts were deleted whew!), now we have another one to deal with. Truthseeker, are you this annoying in the other TLC forums or are we the only unfortunately ones? Once more you obviously don't get the concept of the shows and how wonderful they are to those of us who truly enjoy watching them.

And with that said, I'm done with him. I'm not going to fuel the fire since obviously this one is also the type that needs the ego trip. Seriously though, can't one of the Mods do something about the same person creating sooooo many disruptive posts (which obviously he has since in a few short days he's already a senior member yeesh!)?

Some guy posted that he never noticed the MEK were naked. LMAO. You have people saying they learn so much by watching this show. If they have another season I don't know what they could possibly do on the show. Unless Mark and Ollie go to the women's hut. Then the MEk decide to hunt them down and make them pay. Mark and Ollie could be running all over the island setting traps for the MEK. I don't believe Ollie and Mark want to go back.

Most of the viewers are intelligent mature adults. Amongst every crowd you get the idiot of the group.

I think the point redmoon was making is that while yes in some part of your mind you register that they are wearing fewer clothes than most, since they are not flaunting it such as we are used to seeing it in movies and on tv it did not conciously register.
