One of the things I've found most fascinating from watching the Kombai and Mek is the teasing and taunting that goes on between the men and women, especially done by the women. It is amazing to see how similar we all are in how we interact with each other. Also, in country that sees a 50% divorce rate, it is a bit of a comfort to know societies have faced the same problems for thousands of years. And how about Qarang - the women behind the man!

I found it amusing as well....notice how the men " work " away from the women a lot?? Similar in the " civilized " world too!! Eek Men! I do admire how they seem to find joy in all aspects of life...kind of envy that.

The rush for the farewell feast was interesting....Mrs. Marcus should have been in charge, huh?

Wow! I was so impressed with the similiarity of the"power struggle" between men and women. Women were, and are the power and strength behind men; a point Mark and Olly noticed.
