Dear Andrew:
Maybe you are aware of the imense injustice that Mr. Bourdain did to romanians and to Romania in his poorly organized show. If you read the associated blog you will see what I mean.
Since I don't see any chance for Mr. Bourdain to make up for the insult, I suggest that maybe you should travel to Romania and do your own show with the appropriate travel guide who knows the country and speaks the language.
My husband who is Romanian and I (born American) visited Romania several times and we went to cities like Sinaia, Predeal, Bran, Brasov, Poiana Brasov where we had meals made with wild boar, bear, goat, venison, buffalo milk cheeses wrapped in pine bark, mushrooms that grow only on the side of a tree and must be cut down using a wooden knife, sturgeon, etc, etc. We enjoyed drinks like home made wine and "palinca" which is a very strong plums based home made brandy, sour cherry and blue berries liquors.
The restaurants and homes we visited, they all looked exceptionally well decorated, clean and friendly.
I could write a long list of places, dishes, drinks and deserts, but I don't want to take too much of your time.
I really think that one of the next shows should be produced in Romania. If you find this suggestion intersting, please do not hesitate to contact us for more information and contacts you can benefit in the area. We have many friends and relatives in the area that are English speaking.
Just please do not do a show as Mr. Bourdain did. Thank you
