This recipe is dedicated to Mark DeCarlo from my new cookbook You're The Chef.
Bourbon Pepper Steak
1-lb. flank steak (cut into strips)
1c. sliced mushrooms
1 bell pepper (chopped)
1 tomato (diced)
1/8c. bourbon
2 pkgs. brown gravy mix
2c. water
4c. cooked pasta (set aside)
In a large saucepan of water, simmer steak until tender, drain off liquid. In a large cooking pot, saute together steak, mushrooms and bell pepper over medium heat until tender. Add tomato and bourbon. In a bowl, whisk together gravy and water, add gravy mixture to remaining ingredients in saucepan, bring to a boil, stir constantly until thickened. Divide pasta onto plates, ladle pepper steak over pasta. Serves 4 Enjoy!
