So we all know that this show is getting some attention now because of this yummy & extreme eating, and also the cool personality that Adam has. But I stop to think of all those images that we've all seen on tv about the children that literally starve to death in their mother's arms, then buzzards surround their little malnourished bodies. It seems there is an audience for this type of gluttonous entertainment, but please stop and think about the children in need of at least an ounce of the food he stuffs in his mouth. I bet you those poor little children would eat all the food that is vomited by Adam just so they can stay alive. I am requesting that the Food Network donate food, money, and anything else possible to those kids in need. You are a powerful show & I know you all can do this simple request. You've accomplished so much, please help to save the starving children. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

I was so happy to read your comment. I was at this site to say the EXACT SAME THING. It actually makes me sick to watch him gourge himself knowing how many people would be able to eat from just one of his meals. I sincerely hope the TRAVEL CHANNEL decides to take the money and resources that they use for this disgusting show to help the starving families in our country- Do the right thing- stop this show and use the money for going city to city filling food pantries instead.

Yes it makes me sick too. And it is obvious from his pictures that he HAS gained weight from all the food and is not taking care of his health. GROSS DUDE!!!

Seriously, there isn't a food shortage on this planet, just a lack of dispersion and proper access. Is this show any worse than "10 sexiest beaches" or "awesome resorts" etc? I enjoy this because rather than exploiting a culture for its tourist kitsch, Adam is jumping in waist deep in some rich cultural hot spots. While the emphasis of the show is on eating massive quantities of goodness, what also gets shown is the support from the various communities for a little bit of advertising of what makes them special.

Do you watch the travel channel at all, or are you protesting the idea in general? If so, good for you, get behind the cause, raise awareness. If all you are protesting is starving children elsewhere in the world but still watch the other fine programming on the show, you might want to get your realities in check.

There's obviously not a food shortage here in the US, but food shortage does exist in the world! If there wasn't a food shortage, then there wouldn't be a discussion about this topic now would there. Whether it's improperly distributed or lack of access to it is irrelevant. The reality check is this: people & children are currently dying because they have little or nothing at all to eat on a daily basis. This is going on while shows like this gorge beyond belief & what's even worse is that they gorge while being clearly overweight already, and even worse than that people like yourself cheer them on & choose to look the other way at the true reality of what's going on in the world. How is this your so called "reality check"? Innocent people and children are dying of starvation, can you believe it, yes starvation! It's rare here but there is such a thing. This is reality! Check it out, browse it, read about it, get informed, get educated about this reality that you are overlooking for your own selfish pleasure. You may not have the power to help and so I did not intend for you to read it. This is directed for people with power that have the knowledge and the resources to help these innocent people. It's not that they choose to starve, it's because they do not have the means to get any food! Travel channel can help since they travel all over the world and have many connections & monetary means. They are the people that this is directed to. People who can make a difference in the world, even in the smallest of ways. And I'm not talking about "the other programs" on the travel channel, I'm specifically talking about Man vs Food. This is a powerful show & all I'm requesting is that they help those that are in need of food. I did not say that they should stop this show, for they have an audience for pigging out & checking out different cities, etc. But again, all I'm saying is that since they have access to so much food, and they obviously have the money for it too, that they truly feed those that are starving in this world. It's a simple and generous request.

I'm sorry, but I can't get over the fact that there are people and specifically little, innocent children that are in pain because of their hunger and because they are slowly dying all because of selfish people who have the food are wasting it by throwing it out or stuffing their faces, oh & then throwing it up. Have a small, friendly,once a year eating competition of this kind, but not a whole freaking show that runs who knows how many months. And so if Vegas and so many other cities waste food, why not have Travel Channel do something worthwhile to make a change, even if it's through this one simple & generous act of donating some food or money. They are in a position to do so, and in a very powerful way where many people and children can be saved. What if that was you that was starving to death? Wouldn't you want someone to come save you?

is way of the world.. the us should take care of it's own backyard before the rest of world. the us has helped many countries over the years and there are many organizations that feed the kids in foreign countries. you dont think they do enough get rich and give them your money to feed them.

and yes i have been hungry and homeless, i have in my past gotten my dinner from "dumpster diving" so been there done that got the tattoo.

The farmer's of USA produce enough food to guarantee that no man, woman, or child should have to suffer from hunger. But there is no profit in giving food away for free. There are political and economic roadblocks that keep aid from reaching the needy.

How many frivolous & fake lawsuits are filed in the US because somebody found a frog, mouse, finger tip, etc., in their food? This is the reason restaurants throw tons of food away instead of donating to a food bank or shelter.

And, if someone is really starving to death, I'm betting they don't have electricity, let alone cable/satellite and a television so they have no idea the show (or even the network) exist. I'm sure they don't even know a such a thing as a buffet exists.

If [I]I[/I} were starving to death, I'm betting that would mean there was a total collapse of the socio-economic situation. You don't exactly see people starving to death in the US. Why would I eat groundhog & squirrel or other varmints when I can buy steak at the supermarket? As long as I have a rifle & ammunition and wood for fire, I will always eat.

Agreed. The demeaning comments here are really misplaced. There are other TV programs that are about cooking contests and you see on film the "bad" food being thrown away or even worse - wasted for no reason. Adam IS EATING his food. The food has been paid for by the producation company. The restaurants profit from business and pay the farmers and stores where they get there supplies.

How on Earth can this be a bad thing?!! YES- there is starvation in the world but Adam isn't making it any worse by eating a 4lb steak!!!!

Stop preaching and take your sermons to a place that can help. There are charities out there that I am sure will be happy to take your money AND YOUR food!!!

The problem that most of the "Adam Protectors" don't understand is that a show like this makes
OUR COUNTRY look bad. Can you imagine someone from Sudan, a person who has to fight through hundreds of others just to grab a bowl or two of gruel for her children, seeing Adam and his "food challenges?" It makes me sick to even think of it. We are a country of excess. We are the world's top polluter along with China. Yes, we are taking steps to change. But not fast enough. We are the world's largest wasters of food. Tons and tons thrown away everyday. Yet the people in Africa and Asia continue to starve. And it's not just the fact that we don't give enough to try and help them. Many people who donate don't know that militias and counter-insurgent groups STEAL THE FOOD AND MEDICAL SUPPLIES THAT WE GIVE TO TRY AND HELP.
Read that last sentence again..it's true. It's a
political problem that OUR GOVERNMENT should be trying to stop from happening. The biggest question of all is...why are they not doing ENOUGH about the military groups that are stealing what we are giving?

I can't believe everyone is making sucha big deal about the show. First of all, you can't blame the show for what is going on in the world. It's true people are starving and it is truly sad to see how many are dying. But the only one's to blame for this is the Governments and and their politicians and when i mean governments i'm not only refering to the US government but other as well. I mean, are they not the ones who spend millions on military and other unecessary areas? Another thing is earth was design to reproduce food time and time again. It is a proven science fact. But who is destroying the natural habitat and causing lack of food? Is it the show? Its people themselves. The truth is as long as people are ruining the environment there will be lack of food around the world.For those who are complaining, be sincer with yourselves.
