I was surfing the channels and noticed the Most Haunted episode was at the Southern Mansion in Cape May, NJ. I have stayed at this boutique hotel many times and it is great. I have had no haunted experiences there but that does not mean it is not a haunted location.

Here are my issues with Most Haunted episode:

1. No part of NJ is below the Mason Dixon line. NJ was a Yankee state. Yes, southerns would vacation at Cape May to escape the brutal summer heat, but clearly NJ is a Northern state. Not sure the credentials of the "historian" but to say NJ is below the Mason Dixon line and imply it was a confederate state shows an extreme lack of research. Obviously, she looked at a map and noticed parts of NJ were below the border between Pennsylvania, which is one of the Mason-Dixon boundries and took NJ to be part of the south.

2. The obvious mistake by the Historian let the suppossed psychic to find "confederate ghost soldiers" hiding in the basement. There is no historical record of confederates soldiers being in Cape May or hiding in a house owned by George Allen of Phiadelphia (a clearly Yankee state). What rubbish!

3. Can someone please tell Yvette Fielding to stop screaming!!! Who can hear any possible noises with all her noise. Take a valium or something, jeez!

It is worth a stay at the Southern Mansion or some of the other haunted B&Bs in Cape May. The Craig House is very active as is the Winward House (I have stayed at both and they are very nice B&Bs and from my experience haunted). I good friend that I trust mentioed the Puffin as another good B&B that is active with ghosts. Many have told me the Southern Mansion is haunted but I personally have not had an experience there.

Sorry to be so negative but obvious inaccuracies raise serious questions of the authenticity of the show.

Since coming to America this show has deteriorated from my finding it interesting because of the British locations to down right irritating. The 3 woman giggling and screaming in this last episode while they ducked under the covers like schoolgirls was an even bigger waste of time this week then most. They were in Sleepy Hollow a few weeks ago and were so frightened by normal night noises it was laughable. They were among the very first on the air and even though the main cast are actors and television celebrities not paranormal investigators it would seem reasonable to expect a show called Most Haunted to at least attempt to do some real investigating and not just let some Brits wander through the American countryside filming laughable shows that are truly poor excuses for paranormal research.
