Tony i have lived about 11 years in Colombia and they have a wide varity of food. On the coast you'll find fish soup, coconut rice, cassaroles as well as many different fried foods. Medellin is known for it's beans, great service and gorgeous women, Bucaramanga has many grilled meat resturants featuring goat, lamb, beef, udder, etc. Cali, sancoho-hen soup cooked on an open fire-tamales, smoked beef lungs, cow eyed soup, fried tripe, whole roasted hog, fritangas-an array of fried things, like platain flatten paper thin, platain stuffed with cracklin then deep fried, yuca dough stuffed with fried ground beef then deep fried, stuffed potoes deep fried, maduro stuffed with cheese all served with different dipping sauces. December is a good time, nice weather and bull fights which attract lots of gorgeous babes and a horse parade that last most of the day, with lots of drinking and after partying till dawn. Every city has open aired resturants where you can see the food being cooked. They are tree trunk framed with palm thachted roofs-very rustic-and service like you have never seen before. The waiter will break his back trying to please you, if they don't have what you want no problem they will find it and bring it to you. If you have your own bottle of booze, no problem pay a small fee and they will bring you glasses, ice, and soda. Colombia has some of the best beer that I have ever tasted. If, you like roadside food I can take you where they milk goats right there and you drink the milk hot and fresh, also many different fried things from meat to bread. The only incects eaten are "Culona" ants, which are BIG ASSED ANTS-taste like fried bacon and good with beer. I promise this that not only will you gain a real friend here, but we will have one of the most memorable times, a great show and you will come back. If not, this coonass will cook you the best gumbo you have ever eaten. Cole Vidrine

Too late, cajuncole, he did a show there relatively recently. Incidentally, he loved it there! I had been in Colombia for a very brief time back in 1989 and it was NOT a place you'd want to live. These days, the place has done a complete 180 and nice to see life has returned to normal.
