It might come as a surprise, but the Triangle area of North Carolina is quite the cultural melting pot. For decades it has served as a both a business and educational hub, attracting large corporations and students from around the globe. Many companies set up headquarters and large work campuses. Consequently, many cultures have converged to spawn an array of unique restaurants and night spots. It's become quite a hot spot for hole-in-the-wall style treasures.

The Triangle consists of three main cities, literally situated right on top of each other: Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill. Raleigh is the more trendy area where the majority of upscale establishments (and unfortunately chains) reside. Chapel Hill is the more eclectic and progressive area, almost like a mini-Seattle complete with the fabulous food and equally vibrant people. Durham is the more earthy and realist scene, king of the diamond-in-the-rough establishments.

The Triangle is home to many notable universities: UNC Chapel Hill, Duke, NC State and Wake Forest to name a few. Consequently, finding a great night spot is easy. Choosing between them is the hard part. But therein lies the fun because local bars ooze camaraderie like authentic Irish pubs.

There's quite literally something for everyone in the Triangle, which makes it a very enjoyable place to live, work and play. Please come visit us, you'll be happy you did!

I second the Idea of Tony coming to the "Triangle". You've had BBQ in Texas with the uncle Teddy, but you haven't had Carolina pulled pork BBQ with Evan Rachel Wood? We have dive bars and we have college bars, and we even have a few Fancy pants froo froo bars(or so I hear) Durham has a huge foodie population, Chapel Thrill has a dozen or more great places to eat, hell even boring suburbia USA - Cary, NC has a Mobil travel guide 5 star award chef at Herons at the Umstead Hotel.

Sports, Check, we are in the middle of ACC country, with world class college Basketball, Great College football, and even a professional Hockey team, What does that mean to Tony you ask? one word - TAILGATING and we do it pretty good here.

look you don't have to take my word for it, ask your buddy Adam Richman, hell he's been through town twice. But your a better host than him and i think you would explore much more than just the local pig out joints. So Tony. please come to the Triangle area of North Carolina, i promise you you won't be disappointed.
