In the 29 years I have been alive I have always tried more an more to reach out and grab my heritage by the roots. although with grandparents that are not exactly alive or for the one who is, is not exactly coherent.It has made my sojourn very difficult. This is why I am reaching out to you Tony Bourdain. You are the one man who can help me understand what my great grandfather left behind when he jumped on a ship with his family and my grandfather and moved to America.

AS far as I can get back to, I know my family originated from Avellino, a province of Napoli. Even further is that we are from Lioni, or as my nonna used to tell my nonno, Looney.

It is a small farm town in Avallino with great meats and wonderful wines. I am not going to act like I know this place becasue I don't. but formthe stories I have heard it was once a wonderful place that Northern Italians used to hate. VA FA Napoli is the old saying. Translation= Go To Hell!

This is why I wanted to see what you think out there. I want you, Tony to travel there and help me better understand the southern part of Italy that most never get to see.
